Tempo is currently a student of massage therapy. She chose this path after witnessing the effects of and common misconceptions surrounding chronic pain within her family. She is motivated to educate and empower others, aspiring to make learning to understand and care for your own body accessible to more people.
Outside of school, she has completed courses learning to serve as a birth and end of life doula, as well as on the subjects of grief, trauma informed practice, and chronic pain. Her learning journey thus far has deepened her appreciation of how complex and multifaceted health and healing are, and how powerful simply pausing to be present in one’s own body can be.
As a body worker at Thuja Wellness, she offers relaxation-focused massage, using fluid, soothing techniques to calm the nervous system, and more specific work to relieve tension and discomfort in the body’s soft tissues. So far in school, she has enjoyed learning myofascial, trigger point, deep tissue, and other techniques.
Relaxation massage can be an impactful adjunctive therapy for patients receiving care from other Thuja practitioners.
Please note: Tempo is not yet a registered massage therapist, therefore treatments are not eligible to submit for insurance/extended health coverage.
